This blog has been mothballed for…. well for awhile now, but I’ve decided to bring it back to life. I’ve missed having my own website to post to, instead of just feeding content directly into the maw of facebook. Posts on facebook either go viral or go away, and they go away very quickly. I want a more permanent record for my writing, one I can refer back to easily, even if I’m the only one who regularly reads it.
I will be putting a lot of my political posts here, starting with the FB post I made shortly after Election Day. That post has become my mission statement and I’ll be giving it it’s own page for quick reference. I will also be posting “calls to action” links to online petitions and lots of commentary about current events. I believe we are on the threshold of what could be one of the darkest chapters in our country’s history, and I will do everything I can to shed light on that darkness. I will also try to keep a sense of humor about it all, there is an absurdity to this whole situation that makes it feel like satire come to life, and when I’m not worried for the future of most everything I hold dear in this country, I can laugh at the buffoonery, the childishness, and the idiocy of the “tweeter in chief.” An I can only hope that 2017 will bring him a spectacular train wreck of a presidency that will take the whole Republican/Tea Party down with him, but minimize innocent casualties in the process.
